Bibliotherapy. In grad school, I studied about it as a tool to assist in the counseling process. In practice, I use it all the time.
Bibliotherapy, as defined by Webster’s, “is the use of reading materials for help in solving personal problems or for psychiatric therapy.”
Both affordable and convenient, it is a great tool to use within the counseling process. The information given in a book can take weeks to cover in sessions, and the pace of the book gives space for reflection, integration, and
