Marital life is a wonderful adventure.

Along the adventure, most people like some combination of control with spontaneity – typically leaning heavily toward control. Even spontaneous people like to keep autonomy. Part of the adventure is planned, but we all know the unplanned life happens. The course of a year (or sometimes a week) can be described as a roller coaster meets carousal type of experience. A combination of days that are all over the place alongside times when the status quo is maintained.

In a marriage that has seen many years,
