Years ago, in a tough season that left me feeling broken, I taped a simple, paper sign onto the wallpaper of our laundry room that read:

God is Bigger Than any Problem You Face.

Why the laundry room? My frequent presence made it the most likely place, and it proved the best place.  At times, I read the sign silently as tears found my cheeks. Sometimes, I would simply touch it and hope the message would work like osmosis and change my outlook.  Other times, to guide my heart to trust God against a wave of emotions, I would read the sign aloud, and sometimes I read it loudly. 

In clenched teeth and tears, in gratitude and good days, and amid small mountains of dirty laundry, the sign never failed to both encourage and invite me to trust God. To trust him no matter the situation. To trust him with every piece of the story. To praise him in all seasons. To believe that no matter the degree of brokenness, God’s hands-on care would put me back together. His help was a whisper away.
