Stop. Just Stop.
I love my work. This ministry is my calling, and I am filled with joy to follow Jesus in the counseling field. However, I could have retired in my thirties, if I had a dollar for every time someone said one of these sentences (or some version of them) in my office:
I shouldn’t have done that.
I know it was stupid; I did it anyway.
I knew it was wrong. I knew it was wrong when I was doing it.
Here is the takeaway: most people know when they are messing up. They are self-aware when engaging in poor, dishonest, disrespectful, dangerous, illegal, etc. behavior. Yet, they often do it anyway. They take the risk.
