There are multiple reasons couples enter marital counseling, but one of those is that they simply let their love story fade and fall away. They don’t nourish their marriage. They allow the pursuit of professional life or the pull of schedules, chores, social life, and even family members pull them away from one another. They fail to invest in their marriage and as a result it suffers.

Much like a plant that is deprived of water, a relationship can begin to wilt, turn dry and crumbly, and eventually will appear dried up. When blooms disappear and beauty fades, it’s (sadly) easy and common to let it go from bad to worse. When this happens, it takes work to restore health. In marriage, the work is worth it. And thankfully, God says he’s the Gardener…
